PLAZA LAIYA – This celebration space in Club Laiya at San Juan, Batangas is designed to be inclusive to all. It features a staging area that has flowing patterns representative of the ocean and colors that express a unique sense of belongingness that life by the beach front gives. The fun curvilinear outdoor benches that mimic the waves of the sea encourage imaginative play for kids and provide a comfortable seating option as well. The park is surrounded by lush plant life everywhere you look and will leave every guest tranquil and refreshed, this we guarantee.

I remember the time that a storm surge pushed the sea inward which washed over this beach. Since 2006 I have been a witness to the development of this project site and have taken to heart its history. Climate change altered the beach front and to be able to design a boardwalk that acts as a sea wall so that people can still enjoy the beach is a privilege I have as a landscape architect.

I realize that we have to find a way to forge harmony with our environment in these modern times. It is a challenge but this does not deter me and my team to find ways to achieve this balance. Happy that this project is turning out well and I hope there will be more developments designed by collaborative teams that uphold the ideals of environment friendly design.
Every visit to this award-winning estate reveals a new phase and step towards achieving the overall vision for the project. We are excited for year 2024 as we prepare to unveil the Club Laiya Premier District!

Club Laiya is the setting on which The Spinnaker is being built. Awarded as the Best International Sustainable Residential Development at the 2024-2025 International Property Awards, this is the first time a Philippine property has received this honor from the IPA. Despite the rains the edifice stands tall as its construction progresses steadily.
The estate itself has won several awards including including the Gold Award for Outstanding Development in Luzon – Masterplan at the FIABCI Philippines Property and Real Estate Excellence Awards. AJM Planning And Design, as the landscape consultant of both projects, continues to partner with those whose passion drives sustainability and good design practices for the Filipino. The development of the projects is pressing forward and we stand firm with our commitment to see these developments through to completion.
We are happy to see how the parks at Club Laiya are taking shape. The design of this award winning estate was developed during the pandemic lockdowns.
Through creative collaboration with our long time partner, Landco Pacific Corporation, we have translated their vision and guided it into reality even through challenging circumstances.
We believe that landscape architecture can make a tremendous impact not just on the environmental transformation of a project but also on the return of investment of developers and their clients.
As proof of our concept, the lots have sold out as the interlinking parks, open spaces and outdoor amenities attracted investors and buyers to the shores of this prime development in the south of Luzon.

The Grand Rotunda of Club Laiya. A rotunda design links two properties : a residential estate and a commercial development. From the air, the visual reveals an integrated property, despite a wide national road passing through both estates. Linear parks line the road on both sides further unifying and consolidating the property.
There is more to landscape architecture when it comes to space planning and circulation of large sites. Landscape architectural design innovations such as this rotunda design plays a vital role in the aesthetic value of large plots of land. It also integrates important aspects of property management such as maintenance, operations and access into the flow and circulation of the development.

Blue streets and green parks take center stage at Club Laiya. Taking off from the inspiration of Blue Zones, the blue tint of the streets at Club Laiya promote active mobility within the 33 hectare estate. Parks are interlinked and can be accessed by integrated streets and green pockets through the commercial blocks. With peoples’ wellbeing in mind, the bluish hue relaxes the mind of those who walk the streets of Club Laiya. From the air, the colors of the seas and streets match, creating an illusion of continuity into the wide expanse of the ocean.
There are, in fact, two properties in Club Laiya : the commercial estate and the Club Laiya Premier residential estate. The two are linked with a rotunda design concept with the national road bisecting it. This unites and integrates the two properties giving emphasis to the size of the development. This also gives people access to the residential and commercial estates with ease.
The landscape architect’s vision covers the entire site and how parks, open spaces and outdoor amenities weave in and through the development. With this vantage point, the potential of all the lots is harnessed, and the human experience is enhanced throughout the development.
