Transforming a once “dry” and “matigas” landscape into a lush green environment can elevate a community’s sense of wellbeing, belonging, and peace. Landscape architecture plays a crucial role in a development’s branding, upgrading the company’s real estate portfolio, and serving as an anchor for marketing and sales. By conveying a strong message of care and trust, well-designed open spaces increase property values and bring people together, fostering a sense of community.

Batulao Commune Village: Where Landscape Brings Community Together
At Batulao Commune Village, landscape architecture has transformed a once barren landscape into a vibrant hub of community activity. The design fosters a sense of belonging, creating spaces that bring people together and evoke pride and dignity. AJM Planning and Design upgraded the old landscape, increasing green spaces by utilizing irregularly shaped parcels of land and revitalizing streets with new life. Pavement patterns and linear parks now invite members of the community to walk, linger, and enjoy the surroundings. The streets, once dominated by cars, have become safe and welcoming for people of all ages and abilities.
The landscape design cleverly unites the development’s diverse architectural styles, using elements like triangular feature walls and rectangular benches inspired by the trapezoidal and box-type houses. Materials and feature trees (African talisay) were chosen to match the architecture, creating a cohesive design language. Even the old amenity has been transformed into a fun mini water park and splash ground, reflecting the client’s vision for vibrant community spaces.
