club laiya premier district story – pool amenity
Creating Convergence Spaces – Club Laiya Premier is a prime community by the sea where residents live a resort lifestyle. In order for a group of people to live and thrive together they need spaces where they can interact and form bonds that give meaning and substance to the word ‘community’. Landscape architecture has the ability to form bonds between members of a community by creating environments that foster a shared experience. Through these venues relationships are built and a sense of belonging arises.
The Club Laiya Premier main pool amenity is designed with human interaction in mind. This convergence space not only is an amenity but a venue where people can interact and build relationships. The pool’s cool waters weaves through the center of the estate and connects residents to one another through access to the common water amenity. This expansive water feature is comprised of active and passive water areas for everyone — a lap pool for health enthusiasts, leisure and lounge pools for those who just want to relax and unwind, and a splashground for kids to play in. The space is enough for the whole community.

Club Laiya Premier – WATER
Water is essential to life in a resort community. Access to water amenities adds to the luxurious and laid back lifestyle Club Laiya Premier promotes. Luxury in this sense can be defined as the freedom to enjoy leisure time in the cool waters of an expansive pool amenity.
As a river draws people to take a dip in its cool waters so does the Club Laiya Premier pool invites residents to swim and to play in its waters. The community is home to people from all ages and to respond to their varied interests the pool is divided into different segments each with their own character.
Pool Shade Structures
Details of the pool cabanas are designed for visual appeal and functionality. Aside from providing protection from direct sunlight the unique cabanas provide a sense of privacy for loungers who want to spend quiet moments apart from the crowd. Views of the surrounding landscape and the expanse of the pool can best be enjoyed while lounging in the sanctuary of these structures.
Landscape features combine and work together to create a sensory experience that brings a sens of calm and wonder. Sitting in bubbler pools underneath the palm trees is a relaxing experience while walking by the water’s edge provides a unique visual experience as the palms seemingly rise out of the waters.
Like A River To The Sea – A sense of continuity and connection to the sea a few hundred meters away is achieved as the swimming pool meanders towards the horizon. The design intentionally creates a fluid motion and an illusion of movement that draws the eye from the man made water feature to the natural deep blue of Tayabas Bay. To add to the drama view corridors are maximized to draw the eye towards prominent landmarks and landscapes. The landscape not only interacts with people. It is only part of a whole. Context is key as the lanscape needs to connect to the bigger picture and setting.

Site Inspection Overview – L.Arch. AJ Moldez looks out towards the swimming pool amenity as he observes the landscape from an elevated vantage point. From this perspective the overall impact of the pool is best seen. The landscape is built in three dimensions making it important to view any design from different sight lines.
Inspecting the Pool for Safety Considerations – Important details of the pool are being carefully inspected for quality as users are expected to the cool waters especially during the hot summer months. Small details matter in a big way in landscape architecture. The proper execution of the landscape architect’s design intent means that not only are aesthetic goals achieved but so is the welfare and safety of the intended users of the pool. Inspections and punch lists prior to turnover are essential in the success of the design both in visual and functional aspects.
