PUTTING THE GREEN BACK IN GREENHILLS.

The landscape is coming along well at the Greenhills Shopping Center Complex. Retrofitting the urban landscape to reintroduce green cover is one of our advocacies so that we all can reap the benefits of nature.

We continue to journey with our friends and partners at Ortigas Land and the transformations inspire us to move forward. There is a lot to work on still, but the progress so far is looking good. Let’s put the greens back in the fabric of our urban landscape. Padayon, kaibigan.

ONGOING TRANSFORMATIONS AT GREENHILLS SHOPPING CENTER.

During the lockdowns of 2020, friends came together to plan and design the new streetscapes of Greenhills. “Kaibigan, let’s put the green back in Greenhills.” Behind MS Teams screens and meetings we held charettes (design workshops) and spent countless hours wracking our brains to get the best out of each other.

The task is harder than it seems.Existing conditions, utilities, operations and other factors needed to be considered. And in the middle of health protocols we had to meet on site, suck it up and brave the Covid waters.

Fast forward to 2023 and the fruits of our labor are beginning to show as the world opens up. Soon people will be able to enjoy the benefits of a greener Greenhills Shopping Center. And this excites and inspires me for I firmly believe that Creation is for all.

Padayon, kaibigan. We are in this together in making cities a little more livable.

The Central Garden at Greenhills.

During the pandemic, the team of Ortigas Land Corporation collaborated with a group of designers to turn an old and unusable space into a vibrant and lush garden that will be a new public space at the heart of the new Greenhills Shopping Center. Together with architects, engineers, marketers,and other members of a holistic team we passionately worked on this space that we hope will be enjoyed by people from different walks of life.
Our passion is to create New Garden Communities and Cities where we can enjoy life as it should be. And this new garden space in the heart of the GSC complex embodies our Vision.

We saved as much trees as possible, and introduced new shrubs and groundcovers to enhance the garden spaces. Seating areas with comfortable benches are strategically located along the path where people can relax and spend time with friends, family and, yes, beloved pets. A meandering walkway with non-slip pavement allows the young, elderly and pwd’s to access this outdoor space with ease. Path lights, bollards and tree uplights provide an ambient atmosphere at night. The landscape design is intentional and purposeful. And we hope that people will appreciate the experience and value of well designed public spaces.

The Central Garden will be opened soon to the public. And we hope that people with different background will enjoy this space. Together with OLC we invite you to come to Greenhills and experience the warmth of our passion expressed through the new garden spaces.

THE CENTRAL GARDEN. Greenhills Shopping Center, San Juan, Metro Manila.

A new garden space is now open to the public in the heart of the city of San Juan. The transformation from a dark and breathless unusable area to a bright and refreshing open space is now complete. People flock to the garden to meet friends and family just as we envisioned it. Interviews with the staff of surrounding establishments confirm a boost in sales since this pocket park opened. This is a testament to the fact that well designed and intentional landscapes create value and new possibilities.

The impact of this project resonates from within and is an inspiration to us at AJM. It becomes personal when we see new stories and memories arise from the development of the project to its completion. To see the garden being used by the people we designed it for brings out the joy in what we do.
